Visiting Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (Director)
ASA's Off-Campus Academic Programs
 

Position: The College of Applied Sciences and Arts (ASA) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale is seeking qualified applicants for Visiting Assistant/Associate/Full Professor to serve as Director of ASA's Off-Campus Academic Programs (OCAP). This position begins when an acceptable applicant is found. This position is a 12-month continuing appointment which does not lead to tenure. Rank will be determined by professional qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications: Masters degree required. Post secondary teaching experience required. Administrative experience involving budgetary and personnel management, faculty evaluation, and student recruitment required. Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications: Earned Doctorate preferred. Budgetary experience in a cost recovery setting preferred. Experience with a non-traditional teaching, training and/or education delivery format preferred. Military experience preferred. Experience with licensure, accreditation and certifications related to off-campus academic programs.

Responsibilities: Organizes and directs all administrative matters related to ASA's off-campus degree programs. Provides supervision of all staff assigned to OCAP's on and off-campus offices, administrative supervision of all faculty assigned to teach courses in the College's off-campus programs, and academic matters delegated to the Director by the Dean or appropriate Director/Chair. Has day-to-day control over OCAP budgeted expenditures, monitors OCAP expenditures and revenue, and makes budget recommendations to the Dean who is the OCAP fiscal officer. Meet requirements for licensure, accreditation and certifications related to off-campus academic programs. Engage in other assignments as determined by the Dean of the College.
