POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Visiting Assistant/Associate/Full Professors (Independent Study)
Off-Campus Academic Programs (Health Care Management)


The College of Applied Sciences and Arts at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) is seeking qualified applicants for anticipated positions of Visiting Assistant/Associate/Full Professor within the College's Office of Off-Campus Academic Programs (OCAP). Anticipated
positions will begin January 1, 2010. The position available to teach the Independent Study courses is in Health Care Management (HCM). These are term appointments that cover a three to four month period to teach a series of independent study courses at an off-campus site in the local area.

Qualifications: Master's degree required, doctorate preferred. Postsecondary teaching experience and/or related industry experience required. Proficiency in the use of APA style preferred. Past teaching experience in research or technical writing preferred. Ability to travel
to specified locations for teaching required.

Responsibilities: To teach undergraduate research course(s) as indicated above. To provide appropriate personnel at the off-campus site with course syllabi and assignments at least six weeks in advance of semester. To provide grades within specified deadlines. To maintain
contact with Off-Campus Academic Programs for student inquiries and grading requirements for up to 12 months from last scheduled class meeting date.

Effective Date of Appointment: January 1, 2010.
