POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Visiting Assistant/Associate/Full Professors
Office of Off-Campus Academic Programs (Technical Resource Management)


The College of Applied Sciences and Arts at Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC) is seeking qualified applicants for anticipated positions of Visiting Assistant/Associate/Full Professor within the College's Office of Off-Campus Academic Programs (OCAP). Anticipated positions will begin January 2010. Positions are available in Technical Resource Management (TRM). These are term appointments to teach undergraduate course(s) in a variety of delivery formats, to include online and/or hybrid delivery, and traditional face-to-face.

Labor Management Relations
Fiscal Aspects of Technical Management
Legal Aspects of Technical Management
Work Center Management
Data Interpretation
Professional Development
Technology and International Trade
Technology and Management of Sustainable Enterprises
Managing for Quality
Project Management
Construction Safety and Health
Emergency Planning and Response
Health and Injury Control in a Work Setting
Worksite Safety and Health Evaluation
Industrial Hygiene
 

Qualifications: Master's degree in a major appropriate to the course(s) being taught required; doctorate in appropriate area preferred. Postsecondary teaching experience and/or related industry experience required. Ability to travel to specified location for teaching and to teach specified course(s) required.

Responsibilities: To teach undergraduate course(s) as indicated above. To provide appropriate personnel at the off-campus site with course syllabus, first reading assignment, and any required course handouts at least eight weeks in advance of assignment. To provide grades within specified deadlines. To maintain contact with Off-Campus Academic Programs for student inquiries and grading requirements for up to 12 months from last scheduled class meeting date.

Effective Date of Appointment: January 1, 2010
