Clinical Assistant Professor (Physician
Assistant Program)
School of Allied Health
The College of Applied Sciences and Arts is seeking a
qualified Physician Assistant to serve as full-time faculty within SIUC's
Physician Assistant Program, beginning April 1, 2010 or until a suitable
candidate is found. The Clinical Assistant Professor position is a continuing
appointment but does not lead to tenure.
Required Qualifications: Earned Master's degree by date of appointment
and certification as a Physician Assistant. Licensed (or eligible) in the state
of Illinois. One year of clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate degree.
Post-secondary teaching experience, as well as experience in problem-based
learning. Two or more years of clinical experience in the area of orthopedics or
emergency medicine.
Responsibilities: Teach in areas of expertise and tutor in problem-based
learning. Coordinate student learning activities. Participate in indirect
instructional activities. Maintain a limited clinical practice. Participate in
research and service activities, as well as other assignments as assigned.
Effective Date of Appointment:
April 1, 2010
