Licensed Clinical Social Workers (Variable-time)

Position Description:
Conducts integrated assessments (IA) screens and interviews with clients
(children, birth and foster parents, paramours, and other significant adults),
interpret assessment results, and write IA reports. Positions will have primary
focus working
with families that have children between the ages of 0-18. They will do a
variety of screenings on children between the ages of 0-18. The Licensed
Clinical Social Workers will attend family team meetings to present findings and
recommendation for clients who have been identified as at-risk or who
demonstrate developmental and/or behavioral difficulties. The positions will
provide ongoing consultation to the caseworkers who are responsible for
providing community and social services based on the assessment results. The
Licensed Clinical Social Workers will also maintain and produce statistics,
participate in quality assurance activities, and conduct research on IA issues
and outcomes. These positions will require extensive regional and state travel.
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker positions have a high level of
decision-making, problem solving, and accountability to DCFS, SIUC, Court
Systems, and children and families.
Responsibilities: The positions have fundamental administrative
responsibility at a moderate level of decision-making and control. Operating
within DCFS and SIUC policies, the positions have a high level of responsibility
in providing direct service in conducting clinical assessments to children and
families that are involved with DCFS. These positions must also be able to
support any research efforts that may be requested by SIUC as it relates to
services and needs of children and families. They will be making the
recommendations to the Department about what services are needed to improve
family functioning. They must also be able to train DCFS caseworkers as they
conduct interviews, attend family team meetings, and attend court upon request.
The LCSW's will provide direct support to DCFS managers, supervisors, and
workers. They will be required to manage complex problems while working with
private and public social services agencies and therefore, must exercise a high
level of judgment.
Requirements:
This is a security sensitive position. Before any offer of employment is made, the University will conduct a pre-employment background investigation which includes a criminal background check.
Appointment and Salary: Multiple positions
available at variable time. The positions will be term appointments through the
end of the fiscal year. Contingent upon performance and available funding,
reappointments may be possible. Salary is commensurate with experience and
background.
