Assistant Professor (Biological Anthropology)
Department of Anthropology


Title of Position: Assistant Professor in Biological Anthropology (specializing in Bioarchaeology or Forensic Anthropology) in the Department of Anthropology, tenure-track appointment beginning Fall 2010. This position forms part of the SIUC Faculty Hiring Initiative.

Qualifications: Applicants must have completed all requirements for Ph.D. in Anthropology or related field by time of application. Must have active research program in bioarchaeology, osteology, and/or forensic anthropology; record of scholarly publications; teaching experience; and ability to teach general anthropology and a lab-based introduction to biological anthropology, to contribute to a 4-field Anthropology program, and to an interdisciplinary Forensic Science undergraduate minor.

Duties: Teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels (M.A. & Ph.D.), pursuing research and scholarly publications; curriculum development and advisement as regards a Forensic Science undergraduate minor, and participating in regular departmental activities. Applicants expected to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
