POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Researcher I
Department of Physiology

A 100% Researcher I position is available in the Physiology Department of the School of Medicine beginning ASAP. Continued appointment is dependent on periodic review of performance and extension of appointment is subject to availability of grant funds.

Description of Duties and Position:
Duties include: 1) Follow lab maintenance procedures. 2) Assist students as directed. 3) Keep lab supply list updated for ordering. 4) Keep accurate records when handling animals. 5) Become familiar with and maintain compliance records. 6) Assist in minor and major surgeries in rodents. 7) Use histological techniques and immunocytochemistry. 8) Assist other laboratory personnel with experiments.

Minimum Qualifications: Laboratory experience is essential and those with demonstrated experience in histology and surgery will be given priority. Researcher I applicants should have a B.A./B.S. in physiology, biological sciences or a related science field.

Salary: Depends on level of experience. Researcher I minimum starting salary is $2,145.83 per month.
